SOUTH SARASOTA COUNTY – The Hollow in Venice, FL, a two-year-old wedding venue at 826 South Moon Drive, will host a free Christmas Spectacular that starts at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, with Santa Claus arriving on a zip line and includes a lighting ceremony for a 45-foot-tall Christmas tree.

The 10-acre property will feature almost 500,000 lights and real snow. The first 200 children on Saturday will receive a free souvenir. Santa will pose for pictures with children.

Refreshments and other entertainment are also planned.

Saturday’s program runs from 5:30 to 8 p.m., as do all other programs scheduled for the holiday week, including Letters to Santa on Sunday; Christmas carolers and a choir on Dec. 22; and an appearance by the Venice Vikings Cheer Team on Dec. 23.

The final event scheduled is a cookout on New Year’s Eve.

The site is east of Interstate 75, off Exit 193 at Jacaranda Boulevard toward Border Road.
