Wedding Bells Ring At Puri Royal Palace As Youngest Daughter Of Gajapati Maharaj Gets Married

Debeshi Devi, the youngest daughter of the Puri King, Gajapati Maharaj Dibyasingh Deb is getting married on Wednesday.

Palace sources said that Debeshi will be tying the nuptial knot with Aditya Kehr, son of Gurugram-based Rajeev Kehr who is also the prince of the Vardhman Royal family.

The royal wedding will take place at 11 pm at a hotel in Bhubaneswar. Prior to this, rituals including Pata Ring, Tilak and Mangalkritya have been concluded at the Royal Palace in Puri.

Sources said the officials of Sri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), members of the Srimandir Managing Committee and some senior servitors have been invited by the Royal family to the Palace for an evening feast at 7 pm on Wednesday where they will be served the Mahaprasad.

Meanwhile, the Royal groom’s family members arrived at the Palace on Tuesday. They availed darshan of Lord Jagannath in the Srimandir on the same day.

Speaking to OTV, Praveen Parida, Personal Secretary to Gajapati Maharaj said, “The wedding will be held at a hotel in Bhubaneswar adhering to COVID-19 guidelines. A limited number of guests have been invited to the function.”

“Around 60 people came from Gurugram on Tuesday. They returned after darshan on the same night,” Parida said. 

Members of the Nilagiri Royal family, including Jyotsna Devi Mardaraj, have also joined the marriage ceremony in Puri the rituals of which began two days back.
