Tension erupted at Balikandala village under Gop police limits in Puri district late last night after a tent house owner was allegedly killed during a wedding procession.

As per reports, a heated argument took place between a DJ owner and tent house proprietor on Friday night after a vehicle carrying DJ equipment during the wedding procession tore tent clothes. 

The situation soon snowballed into a major altercation between the duo and subsequently, the DJ owner and his staff allegedly thrashed the tent house owner to death.

Incensed local residents of the area later blocked Konark-Bhubaneswar road near Balikandala demanding immediate arrest of all the accused. A team of police led by Puri SP reached the spot to bring the situation under control.

"Our investigation is underway and we will nab all the suspects soon," assured Puri SP following a discussion with the protesting locals.
