Ok, so it was the HOTTEST day of the year – Hotter than it’s been in a long time, but Armathwaite Hall shone in all it’s glory and is the perfect place in the Lake District for wedding photography.

This is where we met Shorna & Paul. Two beautiful souls who have a love of life and having fun together along with their awesome dog “princess Tilly”. However, these two are ying and yang when it comes to photos – Paul hates having his photo taken, and Shorna loves it, with her self-confessed obsession with waaaaaaay too many selfies & photos on her phone! That’s totally cool with us – We get it… having your photo taken is a pretty unnatural thing… Everyone watching you. You’er stood around wondering if you’re supposed to smile or not, it’s horrible. We get it. But Paul…Dude… You totally nailed it. I reckon you even secretly enjoyed it by the end of the day!!? 😉

Aside from the lovely cooling effect of the old church building in Keswick for the ceremony,  it would be remised of me not to mention how hot it was everywhere else…We were all dying!!! One guest even said that she’d rather give birth again than get back on the bus without air conditioning and sit in traffic through the busy tourist town of Keswick. 🤣 But thankfully, when we arrived at Armathwaite Hall for the reception there were nice cold beers and glasses of prosecco waiting for everyone. If you were lucky enough to be caught by the magician, he might have even put a block of ice in your hands at one point as part of a trick. Either way, the sun was shining and everyone was having an amazing time as Shorna and Paul got married and had the best day ever!

I could go on and on about how amazing these two are, but for now, I’m just going to say thanks for having me along for the ride. We had such a great time and loved hanging out with you guys!

A little more about Armathaite Hall and weddings in the Lake District.

The Lakes District is an amazing place.. Surrounded by some of the UK most scenic views. Mountains, rolling green fields, and beautiful glistening lakes, this countryside wedding venue has it all. It’s a beautiful old building with a luxury spa. It’s set in the north of the Lake District, just outside the town of Keswick. Armathwaite Hall is the perfect place for wedding guests to stay for a long weekend and explore the area. You can even stay in their luxury rooms and accommodation, so if you’re planning on partying hard during the wedding reception, book a room at Armathraiete Hall and just fall into bed when your feet can’t dance anymore.

There are also views from the terrace of Bassenthwaite Lake which is lovely. We headed there for a bit of time out and a few photos before heading back to the wedding to party.
