Sabyasachi established his label in 1999, with a workforce of just 3 people. Over the years he has grown in leaps and bounds and now has 5 flagship stores across India and also retails out of many multi-designer stores. He believes in 'Personalized imperfection of the human hand.' For him clothing is just an extension of human intellect and he draws inspiration from the traditions of his hometown, Kolkata. He uses a lot of Indian techniques such as bandhni, block printing, gota work, tie & dye and many indigenous fabrics in his designs. Sabyasachi has also designed costumes for a number of films such as Black, Babul, Guzaarish, and many more.
