A 59-year-old Penndel man convicted of sexually assaulting five boys over 17 years has been deemed a sexually violent predator and he will likely serve the rest of his life in state prison.

Common Pleas Judge Diane E. Gibbons sentenced Louis Charles Aiello on Thursday to serve 49 to 98 years for the assaults which took place between 1993 and 2010 during a hearing at the Bucks County Criminal Justice Center in Doylestown.

Aiello was found guilty in July of felony counts of rape of a child, aggravated indecent assault of a child, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a person less than 16 years old, statutory sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault.

At least one victim said he was 7-year-old when Aiello began sexually abusing him.

In addition to his prison sentence, Aiello was found to meet the criteria for a sexually violent predator by the state’s Sex Offender Assessment Board.

“With this prosecution and sentence, we’ve ensured that the only daylight this predator will ever see again will be between the bars of a prison cell,” District Attorney Matt Weintraub said.

Aiello has been in Bucks County Correctional Facility since his arrest last year for the repeated sex assaults of two boys between 2001 and 2010.

Authorities said that Aiello was friends with the father of one victim and he met the second boy while working as a DJ at a wedding the boy attended.

Following a June 2020 news conference announcing Aiello’s arrest, more victims reported that Aiello sexually abused them when they were boys, with those crimes happening between 1993 to 2005 in Bensalem and Penndel.
