Man in Chile laces sister's wedding cake with marijuana; gets guests high

It was a great wedding but will be an epic Mary Jane.

A man in Chile got her sisters’ wedding guests high on more than just love after he laced the wedding cake with marijuana.

Alvaro Rodriguez, 29, from Santiago baked his sister a seven-tier cake and spiked just one of the layers with cannabis. But that did the job.

The baker spent 20 hours making and decorating the cake, and from the looks of it, did a great job making it appear like just another regular, not to mention beautiful, wedding cake.

The Chilean posted a video of the wedding in which the couple were seen cutting the cake and the stoned guests appeared later, dancing. The viral video has got him 13 million views.

Explaining the inspiration behind the cake, Alvaro said he and his sister tried “magical brownies” and its after effect was “very funny”. He “didn’t think twice” and added weed to one of the layers upon the bride’s request.

Alvaro told the Jam Press that “everyone was made aware” of the cake’s “magical” powers which, according to him, was only given to people above the cut-off age.

“The funniest reaction was my aunt(‘s),” he said. I remember her back hurt, and two hours after eating cake, her pain disappeared and she was up dancing like a teenager.”

The Chilean government decriminalised the use of cannabis in 2015. However, only private (at-home) consumption is illegal, and the law bars the production and trade of the crop other than for medicinal purposes.
