Gone are the days when virtual weddings were a thing. It’s time to say “I do” to grand weddings.

Finally after almost two-long years, love birds can now bring their dream wedding to life. What is the best way to welcome the wedding industry back? A grand bridal fair at one of the grandest ballrooms in Cebu. Earlier this month, Jpark Island Resort and Waterpark—in partnership with wedding connoisseurs Danny Villarante, Emi Ayag and Cary Santiago—marked this comeback with a bridal fair and fashion show.

Dubbed “The Brides at Triton,” the successful world-class bridal fair gathered 20 of Cebu’s top fashion designers and wedding suppliers in one grand ballroom for two days.

The two-day event featured designs and well-curated wedding packages filled with the very best of what the industry has to offer—from beauty, fashion, photography and video services, set-up styling to coordination—making soon-to-be married couples wedding planning a fantastic, memorable and interactive experience where they can complete their wedding check list in a day, and be able to foresee what their future wedding would look like.

Jpark Island Resort and Waterpark’s chief executive officer Jason Uy, vice president - operations and general manager Brian Connelly, Jerry Uy, representative and chairperson of the House Committee on the Welfare of Children, Yedda Marie Romualdez graced the event for the ribbon cutting together with the pillars of this exceptional event.

Twenty of Cebu’s most celebrated designers—Anthony Romoff, Arnu Poe Camay, Dexter Z. Alazas, Dino Loren, Edwin Ortiz Alba, Edwin Ao, Hanz Coquilla, Harley Ruedas, Jun Escario, Marichu Tan-Geson, Mel Maria, Mike Yapching, Philipp Piezas Tampus, Protacio Empaces Jr., Rei Escario, Ronald Enrico, Valerie Alvez, Wendell Quisido and Philip Rodriguez (who also celebrated his 40th year in the industry)—showcased their exceptional creations and latest collection through a spectacular fashion show.

From dreamy white full-skirted gowns, fit-and-flare, a-line to wedding suits, the Cebuano fashion designers definitely served eleganza extravaganza and innovations on the traditional white bridal staples.

Wendell Quisido surprised the crowd with his off-shoulder black silk gown with Swarovski crystals on the neckline, a long guipure lace with embellishments veil and a stone-embellished choker to complete the look worn by model April Dueñas who sashayed the runway graciously while in character.

Another epic surprise during the event was what seemed to be a love triangle between a woman wearing a pleated silk tulle wedding gown with a floral detachable cape, and two good-looking men; one wearing a well-fitted white brocade suit, while the other in a plain white suit with black ribbon tie—all of them wearing Philip Rodriguez creations. The plot twist? The men in suits held each other hands as they walked toward the backstage, portraying a same-sex couple getting married, drew out cheers and a lively round of applause from the audience.

The exhibit was also participated by some of the sought-after names in the industry including Joseph Ong, T. Carcel Events, DiaGold, Opulence by Gaylord Aves, Belle Marie Events, Jun Villanel, The Miracle Weddings, AbbySean Events, Chaty Archival, Recla Events by Bucks, Concept and Ideas, Blooms and Bubbles, Joshua events and Party Services, Bliss Unlimited.
