Candace Cameron Bure and her family have sparked a debate about wedding attire etiquette.

The 45-year-old mother-of-three took to Instagram over the weekend to share a set of photos of her family taken before a wedding. The photos featured both Cameron Bure and her daughter Natasha, wearing strapless red dresses alongside her husband, Valeri Bure, and son, Lev, dressed in blue and grey suits.

"Wedding season and I am here for it," she captioned the post for her more than 5 million followers. "Mama gets another family pic (minus Maks who’s away at college)."

While Cameron Bure and her daughter were dressed to the nines, some thought that they may have missed the mark on their choice in attire. Many wrote to the star to suggest that it's considered a fashion and etiquette "faux-pas" to wear a bold colour, such as red to a wedding, while others thought her husband and son also missed the mark by "not wearing socks" to a formal event.

"This is just straight up inconsiderate to the bride," oneone Instagram user commented of Cameron Bure's red dress. "It's her day, why did y'all try to show up and show out, wearing the loudest colour?"

"While I absolutely love the red, it's my favourite colour, it's considered a no-no at weddings," someone else commented.

"I love you so much, and I'm not personally against wearing red to a wedding. But I feel like as a general rule, you should dress modestly or in an understated way at weddings, just out of courtesy to the bride," another person wrote. "You shouldn't try to stand at her event or steal her thunder by wearing something that is so hard not to look at. You all look beautiful, and I've never heard of a hard and fast rule that says no red. But to me, it just feels like common sense or at least something to consider at the very least!"

"Why are the guys' pants so short?" asked another. "I think you should bring the boys to a different pants store."

"What’s with the no socks in dress shoes?" one follower questioned. "Who does that?"

The former host of "The View" hit back at a few of the negative remarks and defended her family's outfit choices.

"Anything goes in L.A.," she replied to one of the comments. "There were four women wearing red dresses to the wedding."

"Comments like this are unattractive," Cameron Bure responded to someone else. "People enjoy style in different ways. It's not always necessary to share your opinion."

When it comes to her children's attire, the star cautioned fans not to "poke mama bear."

"Some of you still need to learn manners," she scolded fans. "Don't like? Scroll through. Some of you ruin the fun of sharing on social media for everyone."

Despite the criticism, many fans rallied behind Cameron Bure and her wedding look, calling the "no red dress" rule "dated."

"I have never heard of not wearing red to a wedding," one person chimed in, adding, "you all look great."

"There is nothing wrong with her pic. As someone that ran a wedding business for over seven years, I would be grateful to see guests this dressed up," another echoed. "Wedding rules have gone by the wayside; it would also be ok for guests to wear red if the wedding colours/theme had red in them."
